Summary: Good place to stay while visiting Volcanos NP. Less than 10 minutes from the park entrance. About 45 minutes to Hilo.Well furnished and equipped. Friendly host lives next door.One issue for us was the lack of heat. Elevation is almost 4000 feet, and it was getting into the 50s F at night. Around 60 F inside when we woke up in the mornings. We are wimps, and that was a bit cool for us. There is a space heater, but it was only raising the temperature a few degrees. There is also a mattress heater on the bed that really helped!
